Scene Hair

Ooook I know I haven’t written anything in a long time. But seriously this originally wasn't my blog! It was my boyfriend's and I was just going to help him write something every now and then. But he can’t seem to manage a scene blog, because, well, He’s Not Scene. So here I am once again writing away……
So after thinking about all the different categories of things I could write about. I mean like I could write about everything bands, cloths, shoes, accessories, make-up etc etc. But out of all that I’m going to write about one of the most important things about scene kids, Their Hair. I mean what could be more important? Have you ever seen a scene kid with bad hair!?!?!
When you see a scene kid, probably the first thing you notice is their hair. Fist off- the way it's cut. Whether your a boy or girl it's generally cut into choppy layers. And of coarse slanted bangs that normally cover your eyes.

A lot of scene kids (inducing me) will cut and layer their own hair. Girls will puff out the back of their hair and guys can either keep it straight, puff, or spike the back. As for the bangs they're straightened and put over at lease one eye.

Ok, now you know how their hair, so your probably asking what about the color? The color isn't really that difficult. Scene hair is just colored any bright color or even mixing a few colors is very common.
Different trends also have different designs in their hair, for example.
Coontails are where it's kind of like striped black and one other color...

And of coarse cheetah/leopard print.
Yup yup, so you can literally do any design with your hair that you want. And the crazier it is, the better. You might even try out a rainbow design with your hair.
Guys should also color their hair with bright colors, because the more colorful the better XD
So you know about layering and coloring your hair. The only thing left is girls generally tend to put hair bands or clips with little bows or cute things on them. Do all these thing and you will have the perfect scene hair.

How you actually do puffy scene hair....

Lol so yesterday David thought he knew how to make scene puffy hair……truth is, he had no idea what in the world he was doing. So the other day my friends who had seen pictures of puffy hair asked me how I get it to puff out in the back. Regardless of short or long hair you should still be able to find this tutorial pretty helpful. So to give you an idea this is what we’re sort of aiming for. You can do it puffier or tone it down if you want. So once again.....this is what we're aiming for.

Well scene kids normally have quite a few layers in their hair, starting as short from the top and getting longer each layer down (kinda like stairs). So if you hair isn’t layered I Have no idea how this’ll turn out for you. So first off you’ll need a hair dryer, brush, comb, and spray.

You most definitely need a normal comb. Any one will do, I sometimes use my dad’s or brother’s when I can’t find mine. If you do have one you should also have a large toothed comb but don’t worry, you can do without it and just use a hair brush.

So if you just came out of the shower, or not, the first step would be to hair dry your hair........ upside down..Yup yup yup you heard me, just flip your head down(wet or not) and start hair drying. If you have bangs(normally scene kids always have them) you should probably dry them normally and tie them up till the end of the tutorial. And then I'll tell you want to do with them later on.
After it's dry just flip it back up and at first i know it looks really freaky and messy. But all you have to do is comb it out but don't completely flatten it.

Now, NO you do not need to cut as your hair should already be cut and layered. NO you don't need to dye it either. Scene kids already have their hair dyed. And if you don't know how to do that, well then i guess that'll be a different tutorial. So the next step is gonna kinda confusing, and wile you're in the middle of doing this you might be thinking "there has got to be something wrong here" but just trust me.

So you're going to have to do this to little sections of your hair because you can't do this all at once or it'll turn out terrible. Pick a small portion of your hair and hold it up.
Kind of like this, but a little less.

Wile you're holding it up, take your normal comb and start at the top(near your hand) and comb down. Just randomly tease your hair and comb down at different places. Yes your hair should look messy and puffy. At the very end of doing this, the portion of hair you are holding up should be able to stand up for a wile on its own without you supporting it.

Wile it's standing up, hair spray your hair(yes standing up. we'll fix it later on). Not to much though(or it'll be super hard to wash out next time you wash your hair) but enough to get it to stand up. Just continue this with the rest of the top few layers of your hair. But don't go all the way down and mess up ALL your hair. Just do this for the top half of your hair. Sooooo now i'm just gonna take a minute to laugh at you.......kuz you probably look like an idiot now. Ha ha don't worry, happens to me to!!! But no need to fear that will be fixed XD.
Basically all you really need to do now is use your wide toothed comb(if you don't have one, you can make do with a hair brush)comb down the top top top layer of your hair. I sure hope you didn't use to strong of a hair spray or this might take a wile. Yea i know combing down hair sprayed hair might hurt a little. So just comb back and tease as much hair you want until you have it as puffy as you want. You could just slightly comb out the middle so it won't look to messy. But DO NOT completely comb it out or else it'll just go back to being not so puffy.

Ok remember how at the begging i told you to tie up your bangs!?!?!?!? Well once the back of your hair is combed back to however puffy you want it. Just untie your bangs and comb them to how you normally have them. I normally have a hair straightener/iron and straighten my bangs out because mine tend to curve in at the very end. But it's totally up to you how you want them. Truthfully the first time you do this, it might now end up so perfectly. I certainly didn't get it perfect my first time. But once you know what you're doing, your hair will most def end up beautiful.

To add another scene touch you can put a hair band or a hair bow into your hair. And there you go ;).

How I think you puff your hair...

The following is an explanation of how I think my girlfriend does her hair...

In the next five minutes we're going to teach you how to do this:
Make your hair extremely puffy and attractive to the opposite sex.
Your reaction right now:
Don't worry, we'll both make it through this alive.

So for starters you wash your hair thoroughly.
Then you grab an arsenal of tools...
..and begin to attack you hair.
First you start cutting of large sections of your hair.
...until it looks like you got run over by a lawnmower...and you get that sharp layered look.
Then you dye it to your desired craziness...remember the more color you use the more attractive you become. Popular colors are bright blue, pink, and even green.
And now to the tricky part. In order to properly puff your hair to maximum puffiness, you must pin up your hair with hair clips and then blow dry it in an upward direction while carefully combing it.
Then you continue this process until all of your hair is puffy and sticking out in odd directions.
When your finally finished you give your hair a twirl and then voilà your hair looks like a million dollars.

What is Scene??

The scene style originated from different genres. Scene kids take lot of pride in their appearance, music, and their overall image. Music plays a big part in a scene kid’s life. Some people say scene is just a style or just a type of music. But scene kids don’t just consider their style a fashion statement or a music type, to them it’s fashion, music, and attitude combined together. It’s a whole lifestyle.

To describe the fashion, scene boys and girls tend to have choppy layers in their hair. Dying chunks of hair different colors and having constantly changing hair color is very popular. Scene girls like to tease and puff their hair at the top. Many will also wear some kind of hair band, bow, or tiara daily.

Make-up is also another important part of the scene style. Girls and boys alike wear quite a bit of black eyeliner and mascara, but girl will also wear bright neon colors. Girls also like to wear bright, colorful eye shadow and fake eyelashes.

Scene kids like to wear tons of accessories. Having several inches of rubber/plastic bracelets, or colorful bead bracelets or necklaces with colorful/cute charms or cartoon characters (these are also more commonly known as kandi bracelets) is also popular. Having many ear piercings or having a body piercing is also trendy.

For cloths scene kids like to wear striking t-shirts. Tight shirts with cartoon characters like Hello Kitty, Pokémon, Adventure Time, Sponge Bob, or different band shirts are all in style for them. For pants both sexes will wear almost any kind of skinny jeans. Girls also like to wear layered skirts. When they dress up in make-up and all they always appreciate “shock value”.

Scene kids luv their music and often say that “music is their life”. Typical genres are punk rock, dubstep, hardcore, post-hardcore, screamo, classic rock, emo, crunk, metalcore, deathcore, pop-punk, and sometimes even hip-hop or rap. Scene kids like to listen to local or unknown bands. They normally don’t listen to mainstream music like pop.

Scene kinds generally like socialize and date people like themselves.  This will cause outsiders to dislike them and feel rejected. People will also judge scene kids based on how they dress and criticize them. Scene kids call these people ‘haters’.

Scene kids strongly believe in their style. People who try to copy of fit in with them are often called posers. True scene kids dislike being stereotyped, wile posers get over excited about their new style that they tend to go around and tell everyone they are now ‘scene’. Tons of posers are just into being ‘scene’ for the attention. This is mostly looked down upon by true scene kids.

As not being just a style, scene kids even have their own way of taking. They like using old slang like uber, stellar, rad, hellz ya, etc. Scene kids will also call things sexy when showing interest or like in something. When texting, typing, or chatting, they will use abbreviations like hXc (hardcore), sXe (straightedge), betch, eff yuu, lol, gtg, idgaf, and others like that.

Other common things for scene kids is being straightedge(not taking part on drugs, alcohol, and sex). Being vegetarian, pescetarian, or semi-vegetarian is now popular. They also take interests in arts such as art, creative writing, fashion design, photography, hair styling, singing, playing music and others.

Scene kids are often labeled as ‘emo’ by outsiders. Wile they might seem the same in reality the two styles are very different. Scene kids are generally happy, bubble, cute, care-free, and childish. So the whole ‘scene style’ is really a whole lifestyle and not just a fashion statement.
